Residential houses set in a garden with a modeled hilly terrain.

We designed a set of eight flats and thirteen family houses as part of the Waltrovka complex in Prague's Jinonice district. In doing so, we complemented a large administrative and residential complex that was created by revitalizing the area where the legendary Walter Motors car factory used to be.

The centerpiece of the residential complex is a semi-public garden surrounded by standalone 4-storey apartment buildings. To the south-west we placed terraced houses with gardens oriented along an artificial landscaped wave, which effectively reduces traffic noise. The northern part is protected from the surrounding traffic by a taller barrier house.

The facades of the houses are visually articulated by horizontal strips of balconies with frosted glass railings. The colour concept is based on contrasts of white, grey and golden surfaces. On the façades, we combined plaster with aluminium cladding, while the retaining and dividing walls in the parterre are made of stone gabions
