Two cultural monuments were organically integrated into the project - the brick chimney of the distillery and the building of the former brewery.

The Lihovar project is a new residential area on the left bank of the Vltava River, which is created by rebuilding a brownfield site on the site of the former Zlíchovský liquor factory - between Nádražní and Strakonická street. The northern stage is currently being completed, and we, in the role of general designer, are working on the Central and Southern stages.

The centre will serve as rental housing with a publicly accessible courtyard, in which one of the largest food markets in Prague will be located. The proposal preserves and incorporates two cultural monuments: the factory’s original chimney and the former brewery building.

The southern block will consist of three separate apartment buildings with a prominent tower, inspired by the factory chimney.

Traditional Smíchov architecture was decisive for the urban and architectural solution of the entire project. Therefore, individual buildings and blocks are of different heights.

The southern part will be dominated by one main building. In the central block, the height of all buildings corresponds to the original development, giving valuable cultural monuments the opportunity to stand out. In the northern block, the buildings rise towards the existing development.

The original factory environment is continued by stylish elements such as brick facades, latticed windows, sawtooth roofs, steel pipes or suspended tracks and tracks that run north to south. The project also takes into account the diverse technical solutions, such as geothermal boreholes for heating and cooling, the use of well water for toilet flushing, rainwater harvesting for plant irrigation, use of prefabricated bathrooms and  equipping apartments with smart homes.
