The Grand Prix of Architects - the National Award for Architecture is the largest Czech competitive show for architects, organized since 1993 by the Architects' Association. The competition was founded by the architect and then chairperson of the OA Alena Šrámková. The projects are evaluated by a five-member international jury, which selects the finalists, from which the winners will subsequently emerge. Since 2019, GPA has also included a festival, which is co-organized with GROHE and aims to introduce the 50 final projects to the jury and the public through presentations. This is followed by a gala evening and the presentation of the iconic blue dice. As part of the gala, a personality who has made a lifetime contribution to the development of architecture (practically or theoretically) in the Czech Republic is also honored.
