Apartment house Na Neklance in Prague 5 is one of our latest projects. It is a very interesting example of the transition of a block of flats into a residential development and its connection to the green system of Prague. The basic requirement for the design was the permeability of the area, where the house passes into the next cul-de-sac, so the house is divided into three main masses, as you can see in the picture. And we think we've succeeded.
The Na Neklance apartment buildings are located at the forested foot of the slope of the Brabenec hill and Na Neklance street, which is parallel to Radlickou street. This place is urbanistically very diverse, different urban structures meet here. The site is bordered to the north and east by a block development. From the south and west direction there is a residential development on a steep slope. This transition between vacant and block development became a defining feature of the project's urban design concept.
The design consists of three apartment buildings connected by a common underground floor. A loose structure of buildings has been chosen, in principle adjacent to the western side of the site. Building B is therefore a detached building, maintaining approximately the same spacing in the street frontage. Building A is set to complement and terminate the block development. Building C is then a solitary house corresponding to the residential development in the vicinity.
The area of the development is divided into public, private and semi-private areas. Entrances to buildings A, B and commercial premises are located on the ground floor level. The entrances lead to the first underground floor (the buildings are located in sloping terrain), which also houses underground parking, cellars and technological background of the building. On the first floor there are residential premises with front gardens and a public park connecting Na Neklance and Nad Kolkou streets. On the first floor there is a semi-public garden for the residents of the apartment buildings in the western part of the complex. On the other floors there are only residential units. There are a total of 29 flats in the project, building A is three-storey, B and C are four-storey.
