Since 2013, we have been a partner of the award honouring Czech citizens who have contributed to the development of society-wide values, such as courage, bravery, humanity and justice.

The prestigious Arnošt Lustig Award is awarded annually to one of the living Czech citizens who, in a similar way to Arnošt Lustig, has made an exemplary contribution to the maintenance and development of society-wide values, such as courage and bravery, humanity and justice.

The prize was established in 2011 by the Czech-Israeli Mixed Chamber of Commerce in support of the legacy of Arnošt Lustig, a world-renowned writer, prominent representative of Czech social life and a long-time honorary member of the Czech-Israeli Mixed Chamber of Commerce.

CASUA has been a partner of the award since 2013. The winners of the Arnošt Lustig Award include the Bishop of Prague, Msgr. Václav Malý, legendary Czech broadcaster Kamila Moučková, war veteran and journalist Bedřich Utitz, entrepreneur, philanthropist and co-founder of the Good Angel Petr Sýkora Foundation, writer Jiří Stránský, prominent Czech dissident and Chartist Mrs Dana Němcová, Paul Rausnitz, Czech-American businessman of Jewish origin, brigadier general Karel Řehka, abdominal and thoracic surgeon, professor Pavel Pafko, director of the People in Need organization Šimon Pánek and psychiatrist and pedagogue Cyril Höschl.
